Mapping with Google

Thanks to +Roz Hussin, I would like to share a free online course offered by Google these days. Mapping with Google course starts June 10 and ends June 24, 2013. It is a self-paced, online course where you will watch videos (or read text lessons) and apply the skills you learn. During this course, you will be able to collaborate with a worldwide community of learners and experts in the class forum, Hangouts, and via Google+. Course completion requires an internet-enabled desktop or laptop computer. By the end of the course, those learners who are able to complete required projects using what they have learned can earn a certificate.

There are two sections:

Google Maps:

You can explore features of the new Google Maps, learn to create and share custom maps using Google Maps Engine Lite. This section is taught by Google Maps Product Managers Daniel Demetri and Beth Liebert.

Google Earth:

You can discover the world using Google Earth, learn how to create and share a tour of interesting locations that tells a 3D geographical story. This section is taught by Google Earth Product Manager Peter Birch.

Join this course and receive your bonus. All participants will be given access to preview the new version of Google Maps. It is an amazing and exciting learning experience. This is the first time to use Google Maps and Earth to find and explore places. I really enjoy this course so much. I'm thinking of using this tool with my students.
